Our area

We overlook the fabulous white sand beach at Sennen with views of Longships Lighthouse and the Scilly Isles. It is a safe 5 minutes walk, down through the sand dune valley, to both the beach and the coastal footpath. Atlantic Lodge is an ideal place for a beach holiday, for walking the coast or to explore western Cornwall. Penzance, the Tate at St. Ives, the Minack Theatre, St. Michaels Mount, the Scilly Isles and Land’s End are all close at hand.

West Cornwall is a stunningly beautiful area. From wild moorlands down to white-sand beaches the coastal views are breathtaking. The Cornish Coastal Path is 5 minutes walk from Atlantic Lodge, and fabulous cliff top walks to Land’s End or Cape Cornwall are possible within an afternoon. The vast expanse of Sennen and Gwynver beach are a short walk through the sand dunes. Smaller beaches nearby include Porthcurno and Treen. Tiny fishing villages such as Penberth and Porthgwarra dot the coastline. Mousehole and Marazion are nearby.

Sennen village has pubs and restaurants within walking distance of the house including The Old Success Inn which dates from the 16th Century and The Beach Bar restaurant which has been recommended nationwide.

Cornwall is renowned culturally, with St Ives and Penzance having a myriad of galleries to explore. The spectacular open-air Minack Theatre is close by. Of course St Michael’s Mount attracts thousands of visitors each year; it is one of many historic houses and gardens in this area.

Close at hand are examples of Cornish Mining that have helped to create the largest World Heritage Site in the UK. And of course they have also inspired the occasional TV series …

Ancient West Penwith is renowned for historic sites and antiquities. From Iron Age settlements to standing stone circles … all are accessible and so plentiful that you will usually be exploring them alone!
